My "Why"
My grandmother is the reason I was called to neurological rehabilitation. When I was in college my grandmother experienced a stroke that greatly impacted her quality of life. At a time that was incredibly difficult for her, I saw firsthand how her therapists cared for her, and gave her the support and tools to help her regain her independence. Both her dedication and the therapist's dedication to her was so powerful to me. I became a physical therapist so I could, in turn, provide care to improve the quality of life for my patients.
